Packing Planned Around the Book and Shipping Method
Packing for children’s books must protect printed surfaces, corners, bindings and special finishes from the factory through international delivery. Pagebrio Printing arranges project-based packing for board books, hardcover books, softcover books, spiral books and book sets.
The packing method is confirmed according to book size, unit weight, surface finish, quantity, destination and transport method. Heavy board books and hardcover titles may require stronger cartons and lower carton quantities, while books with foil, matte lamination or delicate corners may need additional surface protection.
Individual Book and Set Packing
Available project-based options can include individual bags, shrink wrapping, paper wrapping, custom retail packs and book-set boxes. The final selection depends on the buyer’s distribution channel and protection requirements.
Individual packing helps keep books clean during storage and distribution. Shrink wrapping provides compact surface protection, while paper wrapping may be preferred for projects seeking reduced plastic use. A custom set box can hold several related titles, activity components or promotional inserts, subject to an approved box structure and artwork.
Custom packaging affects unit cost, finished weight, carton dimensions and production time. Details should therefore be confirmed before the bulk books and packaging materials enter production. Buyers can review the available options on our Custom Packaging and Carton Marks page.
Export Cartons and Internal Protection
Books are arranged inside export cartons to reduce movement and pressure damage. Carton strength, internal dimensions and quantity per carton are selected according to book weight and structure.
Potential protection methods include paper separators, pads, dividers or reinforced cartons where required. Overpacked cartons are difficult to handle and may increase the risk of corner or spine damage. Carton quantity should balance protection, weight and freight efficiency.
Before sealing, packing teams check the title, quantity, packing direction and required protection. The cartons are then sealed and prepared for carton-mark verification.
Carton Marks, Barcodes and Buyer Labels
Buyer carton marks may include the product name, title number, quantity, carton number, gross and net weight, carton dimensions, destination and handling information. Barcodes or other project labels can also be applied when the buyer supplies the correct data and placement instructions.
Carton-mark content should be approved before printing or labeling. Incorrect shipping marks can create receiving, warehouse or customs-handling problems even when the books themselves are correct.
Packing Inspection Before Shipment
Finished packing is checked against the approved packing specification. Typical verification points include:
- Correct book title and quantity
- Individual packing method
- Set-box contents and orientation
- Carton quantity and arrangement
- Internal protection and carton condition
- Barcode and label position
- Carton-mark accuracy
- Gross weight and carton dimensions
- Pallet pattern and wrapping when required
The packing check forms part of our broader Quality Control and Inspection process. Third-party pre-shipment inspection can also be supported when arranged before the planned dispatch date.
Pallet Packing and Shipment Preparation
Pallets may be used when required by order volume, buyer warehouse requirements or transport conditions. Cartons are arranged to maintain load stability, then secured with stretch film and other approved protection.
Container loading, pallet height and carton dimensions influence freight use. For less-than-container-load shipments, pallet protection may reduce handling damage but can increase chargeable volume. These trade-offs should be reviewed when freight is quoted.
Export Terms and Delivery Coordination
Orders can be arranged under EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF or DDP terms according to destination and project details. Ningbo-Zhoushan is the nearest main export port, while Shanghai may also be used depending on route and sailing schedule.
Freight cost and delivery time depend on carton volume, gross weight, destination, shipping term and required arrival date. Final shipment booking should follow completed production, packing confirmation and any required pre-shipment inspection.
Information Needed for a Shipping Quotation
Send the order quantity, book specifications, individual packing method, carton-mark file, destination country or port and preferred shipping term. If delivery to a warehouse is required, provide the complete postal code and receiving conditions.
Please also state whether pallets, retail packs, special labels or third-party inspection are required. We can then assess packing materials, carton configuration, freight volume and shipment preparation before quotation.
